My journey to becoming a writer has been a long, difficult road. It all started when I was 11. I was playing with Playmobil with my younger brother. For those who don’t know, Playmobil is a European company that makes playsets involving everything from castles to pirates and everything in between. While we were playing, I began to weave a story of friendship, loss, and sacrifice. For me, it was just a game, but as I watched my younger brother get emotional at times and inspired at others, I realized there was a lot more going on than just a childhood game. The power of sharing a good story can inspire, embolden, and change the way people view the world and see their role in it.

From that moment, my dream was set—to become a full-time writer, sharing stories that entertain and inspire. I poured my heart into my first novel, a 400,000-word epic fantasy, which I completed at 18. I wish I could say, "and the rest is history"—that I became a full-time, successful writer. But, unfortunately, that’s not true. Writing is not my full-time job. My day job is actually very demanding. As a husband, father of three, and active community and church member, I often feel stretched thin, much like Frodo's metaphor of butter spread over too much bread.

Every book I write is a labor of love and a small miracle, made possible by my family's incredible support. Despite the challenges, their belief in my dream fuels my determination.
